Spielwarenmesse 2022: Most important industry network launches digital platform for live event

In 2022, the world’s leading trade fair for toys is launching an innovative business platform known as Spielwarenmesse Digital. In doing so, the organiser is responding to the needs of both visitors and exhibitors by combining the indispensable live event with a range of digital opportunities. The new feature will be introduced at the Spielwarenmesse after next, which is due to open its doors from 2 to 6 February 2022. Companies can already sign up from 1 March 2021.

Spielwarenmesse BrandNew: Innovation presentation triggers excellent industry response

The digital service Spielwarenmesse BrandNew has been offering focused information about this year’s innovations and trends in the toy sector since 25 January. The forward-looking format has met with a positive response from industry experts. In the first five days alone, the Nuremberg-based organiser recorded 55,442 visitors and more than 400,000 actions on its website. Particularly during launch week, companies also used the Spielwarenmesse social media channels to present their innovative products to the international market.

Spielwarenmesse BrandNew: The innovation countdown has begun

The digital service Spielwarenmesse BrandNew has met with an excellent response from the toy industry. So far, more than 300 companies have registered to use the offering provided by the world’s leading toy fair. From start-ups to well-established manufacturers, these international suppliers will be unveiling more than 4,000 new products to retailers and buyers on the Spielwarenmesse’s media channels. The platform launches on 25 January.

Spielwarenmesse BrandNew – the digital product preview 2021

In July, exhibitors, trade visitors, buyers and media representatives will finally gather again for the Summer Edition of the Spielwarenmesse. In the run-up to the event, its organiser will be exploiting the huge potential of its digital platforms, offering companies a unique chance to present their new products to the specialist trade around the world through Spielwarenmesse BrandNew. During the fair’s original time slot at the end of January, they can use the highly frequented Spielwarenmesse website in conjunction with an extensive digital promotion package.

Dates announced for the Spielwarenmesse 2021 Summer Edition

The toy industry has been waiting with bated breath for the release of new dates for the next Spielwarenmesse. The summer edition is now scheduled to open its doors at the Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg from 20 to 24 July 2021. In the face of the persisting Covid-19 pandemic, organiser Spielwarenmesse eG was forced to postpone the event for the first time in its history from January until the summer. The announcement comes as preparations for the Spielwarenmesse 2021 Summer Edition get under way.

Spielwarenmesse 2021 in Nuremberg to take place in summer for the first time

The Spielwarenmesse at Nuremberg’s exhibition centre traditionally opens its doors at the beginning of the year. Scheduled to run from 27 to 31 January 2021, the event has been called off in good time as a direct result of the persisting Covid-19 pandemic. For the first time in its long history, the world’s leading toy fair has been postponed until the summer by organiser Spielwarenmesse eG. The decision was made by the supervisory board on 24 September and comes in the face of rising infection rates and further restrictions on travel.

Spielwarenmesse 2021: New exhibitors in prime location

The Spielwarenmesse is the most important toy industry gathering for international exhibitors and specialist retailers. First-time exhibitors at the event, scheduled to run from 27 to 31 January 2021, can enjoy special terms and conditions. The New Exhibitor Center supports newcomers from both home and abroad as they take their first tentative steps into the world of trade fairs. Participants receive plenty of organisational assistance from the Spielwarenmesse team right from the start.

Spielwarenmesse 2021 to take place with a detailed Health & Hygiene Concept

As the world’s leading toy fair, the Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg is a firm annual fixture in the diaries of all industry experts – it is an opportunity to forge new customer contacts, to strengthen long-standing business relationships and to discover a unique diversity of products. To enable exhibitors and visitors to take part in the upcoming event from 27 to 31 January 2021, Spielwarenmesse eG has collaborated with venue operator NürnbergMesse and the relevant health authorities to develop a Health & Hygiene Concept. Based on the requirements of the Bavarian State Government, the concept will be continually updated to reflect any changes as they emerge.

Spielwarenmesse: Searching for new trends

The toy industry is ever evolving and never stands still. Reason enough for the TrendCommittee to go in search of the latest trends every year. Commissioned by the Spielwarenmesse, the 13-strong expert committee follows emerging developments in the toy industry all around the globe. The TrendCommittee’s findings will be revealed in mid-October 2020 and the newly identified trends will be showcased at the Spielwarenmesse from 27 to 31 January 2021.

Spielwarenmesse eG asks trade and industry about the crisis

The Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg attracts around 65,000 buyers and retailers and 2,800 manufacturers every year. To gauge how they are dealing with the global Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences, Spielwarenmesse eG, who organises the leading industry event, has conducted a representative survey among both visitors and exhibitors. 1,810 trade visitors from 42 countries and 548 companies from 48 countries took part in the survey which was carried out in spring.

Exhibitors can secure their place at 72nd Spielwarenmesse

Bringing the world of toys together, the Spielwarenmesse is the industry’s most important business platform. Opening its doors from 27 to 31 January 2021, the world’s leading toy fair gives exhibitors the opportunity to present their products and innovations to international retailers and buyers. In light of current global challenges, organiser Spielwarenmesse eG is responding to the needs of exhibitors and is extending the closing date for registrations until 31 July 2020.

Spielwarenmesse strips “Calculix” of the ToyAward

For the first time in the history of the ToyAwards, the Spielwarenmesse is retrospectively retracting the accolade from the winner of one of its categories. The product in question is the “Calculix number bricks”. The eponymous exhibitor and its counting system had won the ToyAward in the “Startup” category at the 71st Spielwarenmesse. During the event, Sumblox, whose products were until recently distributed by Calculix, accused the company of plagiarism. The management of Spielwarenmesse eG has since investigated the claims.
